Jay Jackson is a regenerative development practitioner, environmental project leader and business founder with more than 15 years of experience across permaculture, natural resource management, landscape construction, education, facilitation and project delivery. His career has been shaped by one central question: how can land be designed to support people, production and biodiversity while remaining practical, resilient and commercially viable?
Beginning with hands-on permaculture, food production, soil improvement and water management, Jay developed his capability through natural resource management, revegetation, community projects and landscape implementation. Certifications in Landscape Construction, Project Management, Training and Assessment, Dynamic Facilitation, and Plant/Machinery Operation strengthened his ability to move projects from vision and consultation through planning, construction, workforce development and long-term stewardship.
Over the past 15 years, Jay has operated businesses and worked alongside architects, builders, engineers, tradespeople, horticulturists, farmers, educators, environmental practitioners, suppliers and community leaders. These collaborations built a multidisciplinary understanding of regenerative development: ecological thinking must be coordinated with design, approvals, construction, operations, budgets, stakeholder expectations and maintenance. No single profession delivers that outcome alone; it depends on the right people working from one clear site strategy.
Jay’s purpose is clear: to transform underused land into living assets that manage water intelligently, build soil, support biodiversity, produce yields and create enduring value for people and place.
This determination and mindset has now culminated in Avalon Earthscapes Pty Ltd, an integrated business model created to meet growing demand for eco-developments, regenerative landscapes and productive land systems. Avalon focuses on eco-tourism, agribusiness, educational organisations, commercial developments and high-value private properties, bringing together consultation, design, landscaping, eco-system restoration, project management, implementation and ongoing stewardship.
Avalon is powered by trade-qualified staff, experienced administration and in-house architectural capability, backed by a wider network of trusted technical specialists. This structure allows the company to operate beyond conventional landscaping and provide a coordinated pathway from early assessment and design through to staged delivery, contractor management and long-term care.
Amid the realities of climate change, environmental decline and resource pressure, Jay maintains a deliberately positive and solutions-focused view of the future. He believes the response cannot be limited to concern. It must produce better planning, stronger local systems, more resilient landscapes and developments that create measurable environmental, social and commercial value.
